Christy is the Educational Technology Support Teacher at Serra Catholic School in Rancho Santa Margarita. Prior to taking this position, she taught third grade for four years, middle school language arts, and art at all levels K-8.
Prior to teaching at Serra, Christy had a career in the video and television industry, working on projects with celebrities such as Jenny Lee Harrison, Mike Rowe, Tony Little, John Edward alongside award winning director Chad Murdock (Hooked on Phonics; Your Baby Can Read). Christy is an Avid Media Composer certified editor. She has worked professionally on both the Avid Media Composer and with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and Photoshop (television and print graphic design).
Christy earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Humanities/Film and Media Studies from Griffith University in Queensland, Australia where she lived for several years with her family. It was at Griffith that Christy learned the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to education and collaborative learning under the guidance of esteemed educators like Toby Miller . She holds a California multi-subject teaching credential as well as a single subject credential in English. She earned her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership through the University of Phoenix. Christy also holds a Certificate in Mobile Technology Learning through USD.
